GPS Speedometer: Custom Alert
Privacy Policy
devbears (the “Operator”) processes only the minimum location information needed to provide the App's live speed features. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
1. Information We Process and Why
| Information | Purpose | Processing and storage |
|---|---|---|
| Current device location, movement speed, location accuracy, and measurement time | Display live speed and GPS status, and determine whether the user-defined speed threshold has been exceeded | Processed in real time on the device while the App is open. It is not transmitted to or stored on the Operator's servers. |
| Speed unit, HUD mirroring preference, speed alert setting, and threshold | Remember user preferences | Stored only on the user's device and removed when the App or its data is deleted. |
| App interactions, app instance identifier, device and operating-system information, and coarse technical location such as country | Understand aggregate app usage and improve reliability | Firebase Analytics automatically processes standard events and device/app metadata. Version 1 does not send custom Analytics events. Precise GPS location and speed measurements are not sent to Analytics. |
| Crash logs, stack traces, app state, device and operating-system information, and installation identifier | Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes | Firebase Crashlytics processes diagnostics when the App crashes. Precise GPS location and speed measurements are not intentionally attached to crash reports. |
| Advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, ad interaction data, diagnostics, and approximate location inferred from IP | Serve ads, limit ad frequency, prevent abuse, measure ad performance, and provide personalized ads when permitted by the user | The Google Mobile Ads SDK may process this information in versions of the App that include AdMob. We do not provide precise GPS location to Google for advertising. |
Planned advertising: This Policy covers the planned use of Google AdMob before the App's initial release. Advertising-related processing applies only to an App version that actually includes the advertising SDK. We will update this Policy before processing changes or additional partners take effect.
2. Legal Basis and Consent
Location information is processed only when the user grants the operating system's location permission and only to provide requested App features. Users may withdraw permission at any time in device settings. Features that require location, including live speed measurement, will not work after permission is withdrawn.
When AdMob is introduced, we will provide choices concerning personalized advertising, advertising storage, and advertising user data through a consent management tool such as Google's User Messaging Platform where required by applicable law. We will not request personalized ads before obtaining consent where consent is required.
3. Service Providers and Disclosure
We do not sell precise GPS location or disclose it to Analytics, Crashlytics, or advertising providers. Google LLC processes the Analytics and Crashlytics information listed above as our service provider. In App versions that include AdMob, Google may also process the advertising-related information listed above to provide ads. For details about Google's practices and retention, see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
4. International Processing
Analytics and Crashlytics information, and advertising-related information when AdMob is used, may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in countries where Google's global infrastructure operates. The specific locations and retention periods are governed by Google's published policies and applicable agreements. Before introducing advertising, we will review any notice or consent requirements under applicable law.
5. Retention and Deletion
We do not collect or retain precise location information on our servers. Preferences stored on the device are deleted when the App or its data is deleted. Google retains Analytics, Crashlytics, and any advertising-related information according to the configured service retention periods and its legal obligations, then deletes or anonymizes it under its policies.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Users can manage location permission and advertising identifier settings through device settings and may delete the App or its stored data. In regions where an AdMob consent form applies, the App is intended to provide a privacy options entry point so users can revisit their choices. Requests to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal information held by the Operator may be submitted using the developer contact listed for this App on Google Play or the App Store.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not designed for children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If the App is changed to target children or we learn that such information has been processed, we will apply required safeguards, including parental consent and appropriate advertising settings.
8. Security
Our safeguards include not storing precise location on our servers, not attaching precise GPS measurements to Analytics or Crashlytics, relying on operating-system permission controls, requesting only necessary permissions, and using encrypted transmission where data is transmitted. Third-party SDKs will be reviewed for current security updates and unnecessary data features will not be enabled.
9. Contact and Complaints
For privacy questions, use the developer contact listed for this App on Google Play or the App Store. Users may also contact the privacy or consumer protection authority available in their jurisdiction.
10. Changes to This Policy
If our data practices, advertising model, or legal obligations change, we will publish the changes and their effective date on this page before they take effect. Material changes will also be announced in the App where appropriate.
